The Parker Solar Probe passed within 15 solar radii (6.5 million miles) of the Sun in April. It's traveling at the greatest speed of any man-made object ever. The next close pass will happen in January 2022. Scientists will try to determine exactly how switchbacks and other solar phenomena form.
