The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has announced that it will launch a Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded note (ETN) market on May 28th. The LSE will begin accepting applications to trade these crypto ETNs on April 8th. The market launch is subject to approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), but the FCA has already signaled its intention to recognize the ETN listing market segment. ETNs are financial instruments that fluctuate in value based on the price of an underlying asset, in this case Bitcoin or Ethereum. They can be traded similarly to stocks, allowing investors to benefit from the price of cryptocurrencies without having to hold them directly.
