An Apple Watch import ban in the U.S. could become a reality. Apple has lost a dispute with medical technology company Masimo over a patent for blood oxygenation technology in the Apple Watch. A full panel of the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined that Apple's smartwatch, the Apple Watch, infringes on a patent held by medical technology company Masimo. The panel cited ITC Judge Monica Bhattacharya's January decision that Apple infringed on Masimo's patents and imposed a provisional import ban on the Apple Watch. Masimo had previously filed a lawsuit alleging that the Apple Watch's blood oxygenation technology infringed its patents and had sought an injunction against importation into the United States.
