Apple is expected to ship 500,000 Vision Pro mixed reality headsets in 2024, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. That's significantly less than the 1 million units the company targeted earlier this year. Ming-Chi Kuo has a track record of accurately predicting details of Apple's product roadmap. According to Kuo, the Vision Pro is expected to ship in mass quantities in the first week of January, adding that mass production is already underway with the goal of hitting store shelves in late January or early February 2024. The Vision Pro, which was introduced in June, looks similar to ski goggles and runs on an iPhone-sized standalone battery pack. Bloomberg reported last Wednesday that Apple's Vision Pro production line has been running at full capacity for weeks.
