Global accommodation sharing company Airbnb has announced that it has acquired AI startup GamePlanner.AI. "The 12-member team has been a 'stealth' company since its inception," Airbnb said. But one of its two leaders, Adam Cheyer, is a well-known industry figure, having co-founded Siri, a venture that was acquired by Apple in April 2010, and served as Apple's vice president of mobile software after the acquisition. He also served as the chief technology officer of AI platform developer Veebrabs after leaving Apple, and led the development of Samsung's AI assistant Bixby after the company was acquired by Samsung Electronics. CNBC, citing sources, reported that Airbnb's acquisition of the startup is valued at just under $200 million (about 26 billion won).
