Artificial intelligence company OpenAI is accelerating its global business expansion. OpenAI has announced plans to open new offices in major cities around the world, including Paris, New York, Seattle, Singapore, and Brussels. These are in addition to the company's existing offices in London, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Dublin. This expansion comes after OpenAI's recent success in securing $6.6 billion in funding and a $4 billion credit line, demonstrating that the company's global strategy is now in full swing. OpenAI is particularly focusing on expanding into the Asia-Pacific region, with plans to use Singapore as a regional hub to support customers and partners. Managing Director Oliver Jay will oversee international operations and global expansion from Singapore, with the goal of opening the Singapore office by the end of this year. OpenAI stated that Singaporeans have one of the highest usage rates of ChatGPT globally, with the number of weekly active users in Singapore doubling since the beginning of the year.

Social media platform X has announced changes to its privacy policy that will allow it to provide user data to third parties for AI model training purposes. The policy, set to take effect on November 15, 2024, is expected to pave the way for external companies to purchase X's data in the form of licenses. The new policy introduces a "third-party collaborators" section, but the specific methods for users to opt out of data sharing remain unclear. This move is seen as a potential new revenue stream for X, which has experienced a decline in advertising revenue. Meanwhile, X has also strengthened penalties for 'scraping', the unauthorized collection of large numbers of tweets. The company has decided to impose a fine of $15,000 for accessing more than one million posts per day. X's owner, Elon Musk, has maintained a tough stance on scraping, and this policy change appears to reflect his attitude.
