Unity plans to spend $1.6+ billion to acquire the tech side of Weta Digital, the legendary VFX studio co-founded by Peter Jackson, taking on the engineering teams, digital assets and responsibility of the ridiculously deep catalog of custom tools that Weta has spent the last 20 years building.
