Hyundai Motor has introduced its new ST1 EV business platform, marking the company's foray into commercial electric vehicles. The ST1, standing for Service Type 1, is designed to accommodate a variety of services and solutions, initially focusing on logistics and delivery sectors. With its semi-bonnet design for increased safety and practicality, the ST1 also features black protectors to minimize scratches and a lower ground clearance for easier loading and unloading. The platform will launch with a Cargo model and a Cargo Refrigerated model, targeting the logistics and delivery industry. Hyundai plans to reveal the final specifications and prices of the ST1 EV business platform in the first half of the year, with sales commencing in Korea. Sister company Kia is also entering the commercial EV market with its customizable Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV), setting Hyundai and Kia in competition with major automakers like Ford, Rivian, GM, and Stellantis in the commercial EV sector.
