This will be the first of my projection articles for 2023, focusing on magnetic recording technology, particularly hard disk drives (HDDs) and magnetic tape. After significant demand for HDDs in 2021, demand started to slow in 2022 and in the second half of the year demand for digital storage and memory products declined.
