After three years of fundraising, the World Fund has closed its first fund of €300 million. This is €50 million short of the 2021 target, but a significant achievement in a time of war and economic uncertainty. KfW Venture Capital, starting with €50 million from the European Investment Fund, Wachstumsfonds, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Germany, NRW.BANK, Ignitis Group, and others. The Global Fund has already invested some of its funds in climate technology companies, but this latest round of funding will allow the organization to invest in IQM Quantum Computers, Space Forge, Juicy Marbles, ENOUGH, and proptech startup aedifion. We will be able to invest in 25-30 decarbonization startups in Europe.
