After “The Oracle of Omaha” Warren Buffett spoke about Tesla's development of self-driving cars (FSD), he suggested that Buffett invest in the electric car giant. The comments sent Tesla's stock higher on Saturday (local time). The billionaire investor commented on the potential risks facing auto insurers like Berkshire's Keico if Elon Musk and Tesla succeed in developing autonomous vehicles. “If accidents are reduced by 50%, that's good for society as a whole, but it's bad for the bottom line of auto insurance companies,” he said, “but it's the societal benefit that we're after.” In response, Musk tweeted, “Warren Buffett should focus on reducing accidents. He's worrying too much about his auto insurance company.” He also encouraged Buffett to buy Tesla stock, saying, “Tesla would be a great investment for the Berkshire Hathaway portfolio.”
