This is seen as a positive indicator of the positive performance of Tesla's electric semi trucks. “We are producing more trucks this year,” said Dan Priestley, Tesla's Chief Engineer. As I mentioned, we're currently delivering another 50 trucks to PepsiCo, and we're putting more trucks into our own operations,” said Dan Priestley, Senior Engineer at Tesla, “In fact, we will be delivering some trucks to other customers this year as well.” Despite the delayed launch of Tesla Semi, the vehicles that have been delivered so far have exceeded expectations in real-world driving. PepsiCo, for example, has 21 Tesla Semi trucks that exceeded expectations in real-world performance last year.
