Intel has officially announced Lunar Lake, a PC processor with the latest AI capabilities. According to Intel on Thursday, Michelle Johnston Holthaus, general manager of Intel's Client Computing Group, recently introduced Lunar Lake during a keynote address at the third Intel TechTour Taiwan event in Taipei, Taiwan, ahead of Computex 2024. Luna Lake is a significant improvement in neural network processing units (NPUs), delivering 48 TOPS (trillion operations per second). This is a significant improvement over its predecessor, Meteor Lake, which had only 10 TOPS. AMD's Ryzen AI 300 chip announced the day before had 50 TOPS. Luna Lake is also powered by AI technology to assist users with tasks and provide a more intuitive interface, Intel said. Intel is excited about the changes Lunar Lake will bring and plans to make additional enhancements based on user feedback.

인텔이 최신 AI 기능을 탑재한 PC 프로세서 '루나레이크(Lunar Lake)'를 공식 발표했다. 4일 인텔에 따르면 미셸 존스턴 홀터스(Michelle Johnston Holthaus) 인텔 클라이언트 컴퓨팅 그룹 총괄은 최근 대만 타이베이에서 열리는 '컴퓨텍스 2024'를 앞두고 제3회 인텔 테크투어 대만 행사를 여는 기조연설에서 루나레이크를 소개했다. 루나레이크는 신경망처리장치(NPU)가 대폭 개선돼 48TOPS(초당 1조회 연산)를 제공한다. 전작 메테오 레이크가 10TOPS에 그쳤던 것을 감안하면 큰 폭의 개선이다. 전날 AMD가 발표한 라이젠 AI 300 칩은 50TOPS를 갖췄다. 또한 '루나레이크'는 AI 기술을 기반으로 하여 사용자의 작업을 보조하고, 보다 직관적인 인터페이스를 제공한다고 인텔은 전했다. 인텔은 루나레이크가 가져올 변화에 큰 기대를 하고 있으며, 사용자의 피드백을 바탕으로 추가적인 기능 개선에 나설 계획이라고 밝혔다.
