Volvo has adjusted its goal of transitioning to 100% electric vehicles by 2030. Vanessa Butani, Volvo's head of global sustainability, stated that this decision reflects market realities. According to the new plan, Volvo aims to sell 90-100% 'electrified models' by 2030. This includes not only pure electric vehicles but also hybrid models. The company plans to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire operations by 2040. This strategic adjustment appears to reflect the recent slowdown in the electric vehicle market growth. According to a JD Power survey, the percentage of consumers who said they were 'very likely' to consider an electric vehicle for their next car purchase decreased by 4.2% compared to a year ago. Butani pointed out factors such as the reduction of government incentives and delays in charging infrastructure development as reasons for the slowdown in the electric vehicle market growth. Nevertheless, she emphasized that "the transition to electric vehicles is the right direction" and stressed the need for collaboration both within and outside the industry to achieve this goal.

Social media platform X has announced changes to its privacy policy that will allow it to provide user data to third parties for AI model training purposes. The policy, set to take effect on November 15, 2024, is expected to pave the way for external companies to purchase X's data in the form of licenses. The new policy introduces a "third-party collaborators" section, but the specific methods for users to opt out of data sharing remain unclear. This move is seen as a potential new revenue stream for X, which has experienced a decline in advertising revenue. Meanwhile, X has also strengthened penalties for 'scraping', the unauthorized collection of large numbers of tweets. The company has decided to impose a fine of $15,000 for accessing more than one million posts per day. X's owner, Elon Musk, has maintained a tough stance on scraping, and this policy change appears to reflect his attitude.
