Android OS expert Mishaal Rahman reported finding related code in the Android 15 QPR1 Beta 3 release. Named 'Rich Ongoing Notifications', this feature will allow apps to display real-time information in the status bar. It is expected to function similarly to the current time tracker that appears during phone calls. The new feature is anticipated to make it easier for users to check information such as public transit updates or estimated arrival times for ride-sharing services while using other apps. Users will be able to tap on the information bubble at the top of the screen to view more details. Rahman predicted that this feature is still in development and is likely to be released with Android 16.
