Fintech company Tally announced that it will shut down due to a lack of funds. Tally, a nine-year-old company that assists people with managing and repaying credit card debt, recently raised $172 million. Jason Brown, Tally's founder and CEO, stated in a LinkedIn post that the decision to close was "sad and difficult," but the company was unable to continue operations due to the failure to secure necessary funding. Tally was previously valued at $855 million and employed 183 people. Originally designed to help manage credit cards and repay debt, the company announced in April that it would shift to a B2B model. However, no further announcements regarding partner companies have been made. Founded in 2015, Tally had recently completed several funding rounds, including an $80 million Series D round led by Sway Ventures.
