Chinese TikTok users under 14 are having their time on the platform limited to just 40 minutes a day, in China's latest move to curb online addiction for younger Chinese users. The restriction is being rolled out in the form of a "youth mode," which automatically sorts all registered users under14 into a different user category.

F5 is buying Threat Stack for $68 million as it is looking to bolster its cloud security portfolio. The deal comes months after F5 bought Volterra for $500 million. The startup specializes in cloud security for applications and provides real-time threat detection for cloud infrastructure and workloads.

Twitter is proposing an $809.5 million settlement for a 2016 securities class action lawsuit that alleged the company misled investors about its user engagement figures. The lawsuit alleged that Twitter provided misleading information to investors about growth metrics to make the company appear financially healthier than it was. Twitter said it expects to use cash on hand to pay the settlement amount in its fourth quarter.

With the merger of Oppo and OnePlus, the company is planning to launch a unified OS in 2022. This will be running on both Oppo devices and take the fast and fluid elements of OnePlus' software and the feature-rich nature of ColorOS. The company will also keep the ad-free, bloat-free approach to software and keep the bootloader unlocked.

Amazon may be releasing a new version of its Paperwhite reader with a high-end "Signature Edition," showing new Kindle Paperwhite and Paperwhite Signature Edition models with 6.8-inch 300 ppi displays and 17 LEDs. The current Paperwhite has a 6-inch display and just four LEDs.
