BMW today announced new electric vehicles as part of its summer 2023 lineup. The new models include the i4 xDrive 40 (an all-wheel drive version of the i4), the single-motor i7 eDrive50, and the hybrid 750e xDrive. The company also unveiled an updated infotainment operating system for select models.

Canoo announced Wednesday it will acquire a vehicle manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City. The new facility will be dedicated to producing Canoo’s electric Lifestyle Delivery Vehicle (LDV) and Lifestyle Vehicle (LV), an electric SUV. Canoo CEO Tony Aquila said the company expects to start production for the LDV on November 17 and complete final certification in the first quarter of 2023.

The Q8 e-tron is the latest model in Audi's luxury e-vehicle line. The SUV and its Sportback version will both offer three AWD powertrain options: a Q8 50, a Q 8 55, and the top of the line SQ8. The new model will go on sale in spring of 2023.

GMC has begun taking reservations for the $107,000 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1. The electric pickup will have 400 miles of range, fast-charging capabilities, and four-wheel “crab walk” steering. GMC expects to begin shipping the Edition 1 in early 2024 and to add lower-priced versions later that year.

리비안, 스티어링 제어 문제로 EV 1만3000대 리콜

Rivian Automotive is recalling more than 12,000 vehicles. The recall includes nearly every EV the company has made to date. Rivian estimates that only about 1% of those vehicles have the defect. The defect involves a fastener in the front suspension that may not have been tightened fully.

우버, EV 서비스 24개 도시로 확장

Uber is expanding its Comfort Electric service to 14 more cities in North America. The service is an extension of Uber Comfort, which offers extra legroom and other amenities. Uber is also working to convince more of its drivers to switch from gas-powered vehicles to electric ones.
